Before Nirnaeth Arnoediad

I had to wait until there will be a good translate of Children of Hurin by JRR Tolkien. I was glad because there were some moments described in large details - right how it is needed for drawnig.
I really liked the description of moment before the Niarned Arnoediad started. And proud Maedhros as the High Elf commander on a white horse.

I wanted Maedhros holding standard, so next he had to have a herald to hold it because in the time of the battle he had just his left hand. Not enough to hol both standard and sword. Chosen heraldry, the eight-point star, is the sign of house of Feanor.

Done in 1B pencil, some rubbers, horse photos as reference and some photoshop to add the background and color.
